Have a stange one here. My sons machine all of a sudden came up with no or limited connectivity. He's running XP Pro and goes through a router. He has tried to repair with no avail and also a new nic. with same results. Also tried using winsockfix and that also does not work. Tried static ip also.
Any ideas?? |

you can get that error when the lan is working good, but you have no connection to the internet through the router.
you might try running the internet connection wizard to recreate the connection. |

Have you tried restarting the router?

Lets go a step further. This computer is hooked to the same router. I have taken the CPU and used this computers connection to the router with same result. Also hook to the router through other ports and directly to the the modem all with the same result.
Using repair in the network connection does not fix the problem, in fact the repair is not completed. Did not restart the router but can do so. Anymore ideas?? shadow_man |
