Router - Netgear DGB111G - No Internet conncetion?!?
Hello Guys,
Im having trouble connecting a router to the internet. I have a laptop and a PC im trying to get to work with the internet together but i can`t seem to get it working. The router is connected and i can see that it`s working fine and i can also see that the Laptop and the router are communicating together, but why am i not getting an internet connection?.. Does my router need configuring? Im a complete novice so please be patient with me. P.S I can manage to log into the router also. Router - Netgear DGB111G Any helo would be appreciated please. Thank You. |

1. Please be patient, this is not a chatroom and it's working hours in the US.
2. Yes, the router needs to be configured. That's a modem/router combo. At the very least, it needs your login and password, and it may need to have parameters set for your specific ADSL. Call your ISP, they may help you with this. |

GLC sorry about that earlier. You guys are great!. I will call my ISP tomorrow.
Am i asking just for my ADSL parameters or anything specific? Thnx Again mate... |

You need to read the Netgear manual thoroughly so you can figure out what to ask. You may just have to put in your username and password, but there may be more to it. If you were previously using a straight ADSL modem with connection software, it has to be uninstalled.

Ouuu I see so that must be one of the reasons because i haven`t deleted the previous adsl connection software called Speed Touch.
I will do it tomorrow as they are closed now in the UK. Thnx glc!. Much appreciated it. |

Hello Again,
![]() I managed to configure the router and now i get fine internet connection from the Pc using the router but my laptop is not picking up the signal. Im using a usb stick, and it`s showing the green steady light which in the installation says that it means its connected. Any ideas?.. |

Problem solved. I decided to use the PCI card instead of the USB Adapter.
Now it`s working fine. Thank you!. |
