connection dropping

Hi

I have a 2wire wired adsl modem which i think might be on its way out.
My problem is that my internet connection keeps dropping and the broadband link light on my modem flashes.
I lose connection on average 5 times an hour.
I have had engineers check my phone lines, and have tried all configurations of usb and ethernet connections to my modem.
The only time I don't lose connection is when i feed a modem cable straight from my modem to the phone socket ie. no filter.
I have tried 3 new filters, new cables etc, so i'm ruling out any fault there.
BT say its not their lines, and my isp which is F2s says they have no problems.
I can ping my modem and thats all fine.
It seems that when the phone rings the broadband connection is replaced. almost like the two cant work together.
I have had this problem for over a week now but before that everything was fine.
Your suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks

You are not supposed to use a filter on the modem - it must be plugged into an unfiltered jack. The filters are for phones and other stuff sharing the line.

I have a modem cable from my modem going into a dsl filter, and my phone wire goes from my phone into the same. the dsl filter then goes into my phone socket in the wall.
This is wrong?

It's better to use a separate jack just for the modem. Otherwise, you have to use a splitter/filter - one side unfiltered for the modem, the other side filtered for the phone. If it drops out with one of these, but works fine if you plug the modem straight into the wall, the splitter/filter is bad.
