Question WinXp Prof SP2 & PC-Cillin Internet Security 2004 issues

Hello there!!!!

I've setup a new pc...its OS is Windows XP Prof. SP2 and after installing all the applications i needed i tried to install PC-Cillin Internet Security 2004 which is included on the motherboard driver cd (EPOX MOBO). The whole nyt it was running smoothly....

The next day i turn on my computer....my start button is gone and all the desktop icons too....I can't enter windows?

I tried to unistall trend micro pc-cillin in safe mode but the computer prompts me a message "installer service could not be access. This can occur if your running in safe mode or installer is not correctly installed"..

I've even try this solution by trend micro but its no good

Trend Micro Solution:

Whats the problem? Is there another way to remove PC-Cillin? can anyone help me...Pls?

Thanks in advance and hope you entertain my problem

I've run across something like this before and the only solution was to format the machine and reinstall everything from scratch and be careful about how you set up passwords in XP pro (you will need them with pro.).
I would skip a 2 year out of date security program, even if it's free.
From behind the XP firewall I would download AVG from Grisoft : http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
ZoneAlarm as my firewall : http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...=en&lid=nav_za
and I would get the following anti-spyware products : http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Searc...-10122137.html
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Turn off the XP firewall and install all of the above while you're not on the net.
Then go check for any updates and tell ZA that the programs, along with your browser and e-mail client, have web access rights. Click remember so it doesn't keep asking and if you don't want alerts every time something pings your net connection disable that as well.
