No it is not needed, I've deleted it from my networking properties.. It would be needed for something like VOIP..

I just upgraded from xp home to pro on my desktop and I had a whole bunch of errors in the Event Viewer I was able to fix all of them exept this ipnathlp error that I used to get with xp home and is still present in xp pro I found throw searching the net Client for microsoft networks needed to be uninstalled then reinstalled this didnt work so now I'm wondering if this other stuff in my dailup and network connection is really needed and on my laptop I did the same upgrade and it shows no errors at all even the ipnathlp error is gone.
anyone know how to get rid of the ipnathlp error in the Event Viewer if I can't get rid of it then I guess I'll have to live with it becasue xp pro runs alot better on my computers then xp home ever did |

Sounds like you set up your sharing network incorrectly - the existence of ipnathlp is indicative of Internet Connection Sharing being configured.
Right click your network connection (the one used to connect to the internet, I assume this is the dialup?) and select properties. On the advanced tab uncheck "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" and click ok. Last edited by glc; 03-04-2006 at 10:29 AM. |
