Wireless Internet Wierdness
Hi all,
My desktop runs on wireless internet through a D-Link AirPlus G DWL-510 PCI adapter card and a Linksys WRK54G router. I have Windows XP Home edition with service pack 2 installed. Everything runs fine for the most part, except usually once every day I have an annoying recurring problem. Without any kind of warning, I will have no internet connection. Windows and the D-Link network status indicators show that I am still connected, however their is no internet with any program. If I try to repair the connection, the utility freezes on "Disabling the wireless adapter". The only solution I have found is to reset the router and restart the computer. However, I don't think this is a problem with the router as others using wireless internet in the household do not share this problem. The router is in the room next to my desktop, signal strength varies from good to very good. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Will |

Make sure you don't have something in power management that's putting the adapter to sleep.

I heard this problem before with other people using these linksys wireless routers. I hard wired mine after some problems. I found at newegg.com in the review many people bashed linksys routers for the same problem you mention. Try hard wiring it, even hard wired mine is like it's bunching up and pushing through or I'm getting a rush of info. I noticed it when playing BF2, smooth then problem with connection smooth then problem with connection again.
