A freind enable the XP firewall on her laptop and her wireless connection disappeared. Disabling the firewall didn't bring the wireless connectin back. What is the best way to bring it back?

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
Open the Network Connections in the Control Panel. Right click on the wireless and select Repair. See if that brings it back.

Thats the problem, the wireless icon under LAN or High-Speed Internet is missing. Do I need to go thru "Create a new connection"? Or there is the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard"

Look in device manager and make sure the wireless adapter is still there.

didn't get a chance to see if it was listed in the Device Manager.
Rebooted the laptop after disabling the XP firewall and it asked if we wanted the wireless unprotected. Click yes and there it was!
