How fast is your connection supposed to be?

It depends on the site you are using, and your ISP. A connection to one site could have a speed of 2MB/sec while another site could give you only 300kb/sec.

yup...what razor said. I just ran my link against 5 of the sites listed and my speeds vary wildly....some sites are 2 or 3 x faster than the slowest site.
Now, as doctorgonzo asked: what is the speed you pay for from the DSL provider? that is your benchmark and then you can test against that as your baseline |

I'd first find out what your rated speed is supposed to be. Then, run several tests, and if all of the results are significantly below what you should be getting, then contact Verizon.
Short answer to your original question: no, there's not much you can do to increase the speed of your DSL at your end. In extreme situations, removing other phone extensions can help if that is the cause of the problem. Otherwise, your speed is determined by your DSL provider and the quality of the phone line between you and the local telco exchange. |

If you have a bill, it may be on there. Otherwise, you will probably have to call Verizon.
