Built new computer - Having internet problems

I am helping my friend build his new computer, we just put everythign together, and it booted up, windows XP installed, both SLI cards installed, everything works pretty well, the only problem is He can not get on the internet at all?

Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? We tried rolling back the drivers, it didnt help and then we tired re installing from the CD it came with and it also didnt work.

The mobo we are using is the A8NSLI- Premium from ASUS

Haven't tried running Internet setup yet, going to try that now. I'm not exactly sure which cable modem it is because im not there ATM and he can't find any where on it that says who makes it...

He tried using the internet setup and it did not work either.

Right now he is using the Linksys

http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satel...VisitorWrapper

EZXS55W

He tried using that and also tried connecting it directly to the modem. Neither one would work

ok, try this:
turn everything off.
turn on the modem, wait for the link led to come on.
turn on the router, wait for the led to come on showing connection
then turn on the problem computer let it finish loading everything, then click on the big blue E icon for the internet, see if it will connect.

your sure that it is set up so that it is on the same exact workgroup, right ?

xp should then be connected to the internet now.
