WRT54G & Wireless LAN
Hello all,
I am planning to replace my wireline LAN to a wireless one. Currently I have a resurrected Linux box with IPTables and two more CAT5 cables going into two more boxes (via a hub). I am planning to retire this resurrected box and hookup the modem directly to the LinkSys WRT54G wireless router. In order to properly configure the router, I understand that I need to hookup the router to a PC (thru CAT5). However, my question is, do I need to keep a PC hooked up the router, or after configuring the router and wireless network I can unplug the CAT5 going from the router to the PC? All expertise is welcome. Thank you. - Inon |

Yes, after configuration you can run totally wireless.

be aware that running all wireless causes everything to run slower than if they were all wired, with encription, and you will need to do that too. at least you should.
