USB Wireless Adaptor Driver Problems
Hi,
I have a wireless network and a PC and laptop hooked up to it, the laptop is connected using a basic PCMCIA card and works fine, no problems with it. The PC however is connected using some crappy USB wireless dongle on a wire which i got free with the wireless set. The driver for this causes my computer to give me the BSoD at random times when i am on the internet, ironicly id did it as i was writing this the first time. The driver is called PRISMA02.sys and this shows up on the blue screen. I cannot find any updates or alternatives to this driver anywhere so i have 2 questions. First of all does anyone know of anything i can do to fix this as i want to keep the PC wireless. Secondly a computer shop owner seemed to think that any wireless device i fit to this computer will give me the same problem but i assumed that every wireless device uses different drivers, the computer works fine when the USB adaptor is uninstalled so i was wondering if buying a PCI card for example would present the same problem, Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

It does seem to be related to the driver of that usb wireless. Can you tell us the exact make/model of that usb dongle ? And if not sure, give us any text on it that looks like serial or model number, including the FCC number which often contains the model name (I speak from experience trying to determine weird unknown wireless hardware
) In any case I don't think it would necessarily happen with other wireless cards, but let's try finding a driver for this one first.

Ok the model number is UR054g (R01) V1.1
http://www.inexq.com/web1/include/pr...+LAN&c4=UR054g That is it but it says Inventel on the top instead. Thanks |

I wold suspect that a PCI wireless card would be fine and most likely not cause this issue...
have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver?.. sounds like a corrupt driver or a driver conflict... |
