Unhappy router disconnecting

My wireless card for my laptop SMCWCBT-G keeps disconnecting every now and them then I have to shut off router then restart it could this be the software the came with the wifi card thats causing it ???

I disabled that and use the Wireless Zero Configuration hopping this will work better

Anyone else have problems like this ? and if so did what I did above work?

Make sure power management is not shutting your wireless card down. See if there's a firmware update available for your router, apply it, and reset the router.

power management I already checked and firmware updates didn't work and/or make any difference this only happens when the wifi is on on the laptop and I did notice the service Wireless Zero Configuration was running on the desktop I disabled that because if my guess is right I don't need that while hard wired into the router

Well glc I 'll have to wait time will tell if anything I did will work over time

Thanks for the reply anyways this forum still ROCKS

If problems persist try hard wiring it. There could be interference (microwaves, other Wifis) and see if it carries on if so it's the router if not it's the wireless and report back.

Ahh okay. It might just of been faultly router software I try and use the Windows one (unless the card is higher than 54Mbps)
