Problems with D-link DGL 4300

Just bought a d-link dgl4300 router today to replace my old one. I got it set-up perfectly and the wireless works fine. The problem lies with the ethernet connection. I want my computer to be connected via ethernet cable to take advangatage of the gigabit lan the router offers, but when i connect the cable it just says limited or no connectivity. If i plug my old router back in it automatically connects with my old cable and everything. I have tried to manually plug in the ip, subnet, etc, and it says "connected" but no packets are received and it won't connect to the internet.

Any ideas on what to do or anyone have a d-link dgl4300 that could offer some assistance on this matter?

I also have a wireless card in this desktop and as soon as i turn on the wireless connection it connects through that, but if i disable it and try to use the straight cable connection it wont connect... sigh

did you try didferent ports too like glc said? You may have one bad port in the back but if that's the case you should definetly take it back

ive tried every port and ive worked with previous routers before.. theres gotta be something jacked up.. theres nothing in the router setup page either that would help with lan.. its supposed to be automatic FKOOPAFKAOPFKAOPK

Try upgrading the firmware and doing a hard reset and reconfiguration. If it still doesn't work, take it back.

ive already updated everything and the wireless works perfect.. but none of the ethernet ports work i mean the lights on the router are on and blinking for traffic.. but it just wont connect.. as soon as i just plugin my cable to my cable modem it works flawless.. but the damn router is stubborn and im gonna take it back before i break it and they wont take it back..... lmao.

U think i should get a replacement or just return it and forget about it?

If you need it then you should replace it but if you can live without it then save your money

You do not need the gigabit lan unless you have another wired computer with a gigabit adapter on your network. 100 megabits is still faster than any wireless lan or internet wan connection. Just take it back and use your old router.
