Help me with my DI-624 wireless router
I just got on Ebay from ontario/canada a kit ( router DI-624 + carbus card for a laptop ) , i can't make it connect on the internet ...( im from quebec/canada)
my previous router is not wireless and it is a DI-704 and it work just fine .. im using PPPOE protocol with a dynamic ip adress. ( sympatico ) . i set the exact same settings in the new router ( DI-624 ) and it simply refuse to connect ... it seems that it don't even communicate with the Modem ( DSL , alcatel speedtouch home ). however the router itself work fine .... i mean i can see my others computers and transfert some files between them. If i swap back my old router ... it works ... i double checked all the settings .... the MTU is 1492 on both router ... im beginning to think that the WAN port on the DI-624 is dead .... but the WAN led illuminate tough ... any ideas ??

What if you use a wired connection with the new router for now, which leads me to question what really isn't working, the new wireless card, or any of your PC's with the new router? What does connection status page on the router say, are you using dhcp and is it enabled on the new router? Type ipconfig from command line on the PC's and let us know what you find there and the connection status of the wan port on the router.

Ok , i just lost patience ... i tried another way ,a way i never thought it would work .. and it work ... hah
1- Logged in the new router apps , desactivated all functions : firewall , DHCP server... etc. All fonctions is desactivated but i left the radio wireless ON ( secured , of course ) 2- Changed the main IP from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.2 in the new router. 3- Pluged the new router in the old router in a normal port. ( Nothing is in the WAN port on the new router ) and it work ! end of story. I can go on the internet with my wireless Cardbus in my laptop. Quote:
Maybe the router is really defective on the WAN port. Since it work fine that way ... i got this stuff really cheap (80$ CND).. the DI-624 and the cardbus card DWL-650 both device are Airplus XtremeG .. i dont really want send it back ... i found out that 80$ cnd is +/- the price of a new wireless cardbus card alone .... |
