Exactly what it says. Make sure the floppy drive is first in the boot order.

Ok i changed the boot order and restarted with the disk in and the floppy drive as the first boot device. Is something supposed to happen or do i have to open something off the floppy?

It should boot into a GUI, it will be self-explanatory.

Did you make the floppy disk according to the instructions? Try downloading it again and use a new floppy disk.

And how do you do that? I ran the XP cd and didnt see anything for repair. Do i have to make the CD-rom the first boot divice and restart with the CD inside?

Please read the article I provided the link for.............
After you start the Windows Recovery Console, you receive the following message: Microsoft Windows(R) Recovery Console The Recovery Console provides system repair and recovery functionality. Type EXIT to quit the Recovery Console and restart the computer. 1: C:\WINDOWS Which Windows Installation would you like to log on to (To cancel, press ENTER)? After you enter the number for the appropriate Windows installation, Windows will then prompt you to enter the Administrator account password. |

If there's only one listed, it must be 1, right?
It then will ask you for the ADMINISTRATOR account password - if you never gave that one a password, just hit ENTER. |

Did it fix the errors? You typed chkdsk /p - correct? You have a corrupted hard drive. Do it again but this time type chkdsk /r

If the NTFS still failed, you are looking at a reformat and reinstall.

Yes, you will lose everything.
Boot with the XP CD and choose setup, delete all partitions, and install XP in the resulting unallocated space. |
