What operating system are you using?

Do this: Start > Run > Command

Type: ipconfig /all

Reply with what that says to you.

What kind of modem are you connecting it to? How do you have the WAN side of the router set up?

Turn the power off to the cable modem for 20 minutes. Restart the router, log in, and make sure it's set to obtain an IP address automatically. If you just added the router - and you were previously connected direct from desktop to modem - you may have to clone the desktop's MAC address into the router if the 20 minute reset doesn't work.
