I am working on a system that had a few problems getting online. Ran my usual stuff, Ad-aware, C-cleaner, and Hijack This. There is something in Hijack that looks like this;
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dmgvq.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmgvq.exe. Upon re-start this file will change to something else that is pretty much unheard of. I Google the file but nothing ever comes up for it. Has anyone had anyone ever had spyware or a virus that did this? The problem it causes is when you click on Internet Explorer icon, the Windows XP error reporting box comes up and closes Internet Explorer. After about three tries, it allows you to get online. Strange! Any comments would help. Thanks. |

Yes, that is common viral behavior. You need to run some more scanners.
