Help with using MonoWall to Limit Bandwidth
I am using the MonoWall (actually spelled M0n0Wall) software creating a router out of an old P2 computer. My goal now that it is up and working is to use it to restrict bandwidth. I am having a hard time doing that. My goal is to have one computer restricted from internet completely, another computer reduced to about 100k, and the rest of the computer unrestricted. I have already asigned static IP addresses to the 2 computers and the rest on DHCP. Anyone know how to do this??? I would greatly appreciate the help.

A friend helped me figure it out. Just for referance I will list what has to be done.
Under Firewall you click on Trafic Shaper. Then on Pipes, and create a new pipe specifying what you want for bandwidth (it helps if you add a description that includes the bandwidth ammount). Once the new pipe is created and applied, you click on the rules tab under trafic shaper. Create a new rule with these setting: Target: (the pipe with the bandwith setting) Interface: WAN Protocal: any Source: any Source port range: any (leave blank) and any (leave blank) Destination: single host or alias (specify an IP address) Direction: any and leave the rest as default This will limit internet connection to a specific client on your network. |
