networking help please
hello there folks. i would like some advice on what cable to buy as i want to run two computers of the same broadband account. both the systems have ethernet cards installed in them but i don't know what cable to get. cheers in advance Dave.

You will need CAT5 ethernet patch cables. Should be able to find them at any store selling computers or order from your favorite online computer parts place. You will want to get a router to connect the 2 PCs to share the broadband connection.

there is no ports on the back of the usb broadband modem. as i said i have got an ethernet card in both machines. so do i only need to buy a crossover cable?

If you have a USB modem, it needs to be replaced with a combo modem/router.
Yes, you can use a crossover cable and Internet Connection Sharing, but this is not a good way to do it. |
