wirelss issues

hello , i recently had to nuke my hard drive (viruses of doom from a friend took about 30 seconds to kill the whole computer avg didnt have a chance) anyway I am trying to set up my wirless internet again and what do you know my sister lost the telus install wizard disk . i have set up my wireless adapter and it is conecting to the wireless router(linksys , i can get more specific if needed) the connection is great 54 mbps . how ever i can't get internet to actually work , there is no password on the router (for some reason it wont alow me to put one on it just freezes , i dont care about it no one is leaching off me) i have the same work group name and well im totally lost and have no idea what to do .

xp professional sp1 , my provider is telus ,the other computers are professional with sp2

basically i have no internet but a connection to the modem .
i connected my comptuer up via eathernet port and boom internet instantly , now i downloaded sp2 . and teluses ecare(it is not working )

my adapter [linksys wireless-G usb network adapter with speed booster wusb54gs]
router [linksys wireless-g 2.4 ghz with speed booster 80211g]
modem [D-link dsl 300g ADSL modem]


so still no wireless . any advice or help would be greatly apreachiated

contact your isp provider and request a new disc if you need it. you shouldnt need though. is this the first time you are setting up the linksys router?

looks like you need to register the routers mac address with your isp.

this is about my 3rd time setting up this connection with this router(i have had a few die) and yes i have to register my mac address but if it wont let me access the internet to do that

ok , so telus won't allow me to automatically put in my mac address (im running off a wired connectionr right now ) so how do i figure out what my mac address is so i can manually put it in ?
