"hi ryan" spam

I have been receiving about one message every 5-10 minutes with the subject "hi ryan" advertising products for sale that do not even exist. Luckily it all goes to my Anti-Spam folder. Does anyone else receive these particular emails?

No, but I get two a day from random emails that want to tell me about their surprise stock pick of the day.

(51) I think that is what I'm getting:

We called it yesterday and now it's up 100%! Brand new
issue, Cana Petroleum, heading straight up!

VERY tightly held, in a booming business sector, with a
huge publicity campaign starting up, Cana Petroleum (CNPM)
is already bringing our readers huge gains. We advise you
to get in on this one as well and ride it to the top!

Symbol: CNPM
Current Price: 5.87
Projected Price: $15.40

Check the stats! Check the level 2! Imagine what this one
will do when the full force of the PR campaign hits it, in
conjunction with smashing news!

Major oil discovery? We are not permitted to say at this
point. All we can say is that this one is going to see
amazing appreciation in a very short period of time! This
is your opportunity. Win big with CNPM!

A) Who is your Email provider?

B) How do you access your email (web or through a client)

If you use a service like GMail, there are spam blocking filters you can set up. Anything with the title or from a specific address, or even with certain keywords can be blocked. Most clients can also block email from certain senders.

If you use OE...

Highlite message, go to message, block sender.

All existing and future messages will go to deleted items folder where they can be emptied all at once. I just kept doing this with every spam mail and now I receive very little. If spammers never get a response from you they begin to drop addresses from their lists.

Most new spam comes from entering your e-mail address somewhere online and then the spiders harvest it.
