My modem card doesnot work
I purchased a used branded del computer with winxp in it few months ago, I just installed an intel conexant chipset internet 56k fax modem in it, its model:CM-5633. But when I start my computer and go into device manager settings, I donot see the name of this modem their and I think it means that my computer hasnt detected this modem.
I have installed the correct driver for this modem and installed it from its CD that I got when I purchased it. What can be the problem? My Computer Specifications if you need it: OS: Win XP Pro edition, SP2 HDD: 10 GB, segate RAM: 128 MB Motherboard: Dells manufactured. VGA, NIC and Sound Card : built in please let me know what could be the problem because this is the 1st time I have installed modem in Dell Computer. |

If you have properly installed the driver and it's not seen, then the modem is probably defective or the PCI slot is dead.
