Best way to transfer files?

When I build my computer I will hook it up to my wireless network. I have not actually setup a 'home network,' but I have 2 computers using one router. I have setup printer sharing, but how do I go about sharing files? Do I need to create a network, or should I be able to see the other workgroup computers regardless? Do I need to share any folders?

Thanks a lot.

Since you already have printer sharing up and running, you just need to share folders. The home network has already been created.

I'd recommend setting up a home network. It takes about 30 seconds and makes it much easier to share files. The windows home network wizard will take you through the step by step, it will even let you choose which folder you wish to share on the network. Make sure you give all the pc's you want on the network the same workgroup name.
After choosing your shared folder, just put all the files you wish to share inside of the now shared folder, and you should be able to see it by going to "My Network Places" and clicking on the folder name (should be listed there, if it isn't, click on the "Computers near me" and navigate to the computer you wish to get files from.

Thanks, now I set up MSHOME network, but I only see my computer, not the laptop. Do I have to run the wizard on the laptop too, and my PC to come?

If the laptop can print on my computer, why isn't it showing up in the MSHOME network. The laptop says it is in WORKGROUP.

Just make sure every computer is in the same workgroup. If you are already sharing printers, this should already be the case. Then, you need to share the folders you want to be available to other computers.
