how to add broadband internet to an intranet

Good day. I need to add a broadband internet connection to an existing intranet. Now I can not access the intranet if the DSL is enabled.I can access the internet though even if the intranet is enabled. I have two NICs in my CPU configured for each type of network. I did a route print for each nic and on both nic enabled.

Are you using internet connection sharing on this machine, are you connecting through a router, or some other configuration?

No ICS on this machine. The internet connection is solely for my own consumption . Internet is via a DSL Modem-Router which generates its own IP via DHCP. I know that the intranet has its own CISCO Router. I do not know the details other than what I posted here on my 1st post. thanks.

are you trying to connect to your company's LAN to access there intranet?

are you trying to run a vpn connection to a RAS server, cause you from what you posted previously your talking about a cisco router and your own dsl modem/router.

if you are trying to connect via vpn, have you spoken with your network administrator for the proper settings to connect remotely?

The PC am with is always connected to the intranet. my work dictates that i have access to d internet so they had my pc connected with a dsl line on the same pc with the intranet. My problem starts with the intranet upon the arrival of the broadband internet By the way, the network admin just left about a weerk ago for greener pasture... so that leaves me in the dark so to speak.

if your original post shows the outputs of both of your cards, the network addresses are causing the conflict. You will need to make one net's addressing unique so your machine will be able to communicate properly with both nets.
In other words, you will probably want to change the internet connection's network to 10.10.200.0 with a subnet of 255.255.0.0 or something.

They are already unique.

I believe the problem is here with both nic enabled:

Normal you would only need 1 route of last resort.
That should be to the internet
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.101 20

Try taking the gateway out of the intranet network config.
or delete that route.
Did you enable routing between the 2 nics?

I've never successfully routed two 192.168.x.x 255.255.255.0 nets through the same box. The last time I tried, I only connected to one or the other. I redid one of the nets to a 172. 16.x.x 255.255.0.0 network and it worked fine. BTW, what's Compti?

That would be a typo.
Meant CompTIA.

Since they are both class c networks, ie separate networks, they route like any other network.

I find the easiest thing in this situation is to set your default gateway to what you want (probably the internet?) instead of letting your computer decide. You can do this by either using the change command for the destination 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 and setting the metric to 10 (or really any number smaller than the default 20) and then adding back the 0.0.0.0 route for the intranet with the normal metric. OR Uninstall your nic drivers and then re-install them in a specific order, windows seems to make the last nic installed the default gateway. After you get that sorted out you just need to add routes for the traffic you want to force to go through the intranet, such as well, all the traffic that would be local for one thing. The -p makes it persisent across boots, so you might want to do:

If there's any internet destinations you want to access through the intranet, this the place to add them as well,
