IBM Laptop suddenly wont connect to router (lan and wireless)

So my IBM T40 latptop suddenly stopped connecting to my WRT54G router. Im baffled as to why it would do this.

My router is set to DHCP and my other laptop has no problem connecting wirelessly or wired into the thing.

My IBM is set to automatic on everything but when i look at its aquired settings, I get some wierd 169.235.322.23 number for the ip and a subnet of 255.255.0.0

My subnet is 255.255.255.0

I also tried manually configuring it by give the IBM a
static IP of 192.169.1.105
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway (router number) 192.168.1.1


also left the preferred dns blank as well as filled in 192.168.1.1

I cant even ping my router. Can someone help me getting this back up as my father needs to use it the next few days



I disabled all network security to rule out any problems there
