Xp has been up and running for a couple of weeks now ( see build it your self )
I've wiped the drive on my old box and will install Fedora6. have both boxes connected to DSL Modem via TRENDnet TW100-BRF114 DSL/cable 4 port Firewall router. Has anyone paired XP and Linux and gotten it to work, or am I doomed to failure |

My fault should have supplied more info.
Yes, I want both boxes to share the internet connection as stand alone boxes, But I was hopeing that I could set them up as a two p/c network shareing files back and forth, Isolated from the outside world by the router. Is this doable or did I buy the wrong equipment ( router ) |

It has nothing to do with the router. But as far as the software end of it I have no experience with it. I am sure there are those who will be able to answer your question though. My network experience is limited to some Novell 3 and 4 and windows peer to peer. Good Luck

For the linux box to share files, printers, etc with the windows XP PC, the eaisest way is to install SAMBA on the linux pc.
Installation and setup isn't to difficult. Google is your friend, you should be able to find what you need on line to get up and running.
