Portable internet?
Hey, i'm on leave from the air force... trying to figure out some guy i met once in the dorms was using. He had some sort of internet that didnt need a LAN or anything ... it was like a celll phone type thing....he said something about verizon...
anybody know what its called? |

That link isn't qiute taking me where I can really see what you see there, but I assume you're talking about wireless broadband, which you can subscribe to and use from a capable handheld device or get a wireless broadband card for a laptop, but to put your wireless broadband card into your desktop you will need one of these adapters.

from my experience with this type of internet it's not very fast. i think i got a max of like 20kb down on downloads with verizon.

thats exactly what i needed...thanks.............. saddly its the only internet i can set up with a desktop... but from what i saw....its fast enough for me...

I'm pretty sure they (verizon) just started making cards that connect via usb instead of pcmcia, so you're in luck.
