Linksys Router + Speedstream DSL modem help

Alright, I haven't posted here in a really long time, but I just messed up my home network while trying to change stuff. I have a Linksys WRT54G router and a Speedstream 5200 modem that I use to connect to a DSL line. When I first set it up I had to call tech support because these two really don't like to work together out of the box and I don't know much about networks.

I was trying to change some settings and I reset the router not even thinking about all the set up it took originally. And now, of course, it doesn't work any more. I remember the solution originally involved changing the router to PPPoE, but just changing that in the settings doesn't fix anything. I can't remember what else I had to do. Any help would really really be appreciated because as of right now only one computer can be online at a time and it's a pain.

The 5200 is a trimode modem. Before even telling you how to set up the router, you have to determine if it's in the router mode, PPPoE with IP passthrough mode, or pure bridge mode.

Connect the modem directly to a computer, verify it connects to the internet, open a command prompt, and type IPCONFIG /ALL - and paste the results here.

When connected directly to the modem, do you have to do a login or does it go to the Internet simply by opening a browser or other app?

Okay, the modem is in the bridge mode. Uninstall the broadband connections in Windows, leave only the local area connection.

Do a hard reset on the Linksys by holding the reset button in when powering it up and CONTINUE holding it in for 30 seconds.

Connect the modem to the router and the computers to the router. Log into the router at http://192.168.1.1 - leave the username blank and the password is admin .

Set the router to PPPoE on the setup page and enter your DSL login and password, set it to keepalive, and save settings.

Thank you, I'm posting from my newly repaired network. Now I just have to copy and paste all of this into a file on this computer and not lose it. Thanks again.

You could backup the routers configuration onto your harddrive in the administration page after logging into router and save it as a file for later incase something happens later
