deleting user folders

hi
I just started at a school tech job, but they use novell which I am only slightly familiar with... I need to delete a few hundred user folders (user objects already deleted) from kids that moved on, but some of them accidently had profile information in their folder and it will not let me delete the whole folder, I have to delete all the subordinates first, which is a ton of work for this many. Is there a way or utility that lets you delete the folder even if it has subordinates?
hope I made this understandable since I don't hardly know what I am talking about...=)
TIA
