WRT54G router ip address questions

For my router settings when I want to open up ports for applications it asks for an IP address, one that starts with 192.168.1.***
where can I find that IP for my computer, from status on my local network connection?

I know the local address for the router is 192.168.1.1
and the starting range is 192.168.1.100

I have cable internet type DHCP

the above IP addresses are not my PC's real IP address are they?
I mean, when I use any online tool the IP address it tells me I have for my computer is
67..***.***.***

but that is produced from my router isnt it?
even if I didnt have a router at all my IP wouldnt be 192.168.1.***

You should change to static local IP if you are going to be forwarding ports. Otherwise, your local IP may change due to the way DHCP works.

In your TCP/IP properties for your local area connection, put in 192.168.1.99 for IP, 255.255.255.0 for subnet mask, 192.168.1.1 for default gateway, and then go into the router's WAN status page and copy down the DNS. Use those numbers for DNS.

Then all you do is forward necessary ports to 192.168.1.99.
