What do I need for the internet?
I am having optimum online installed tomorrow in my house and I was just wondering what hardware is required in order to connect a computer to the internet. I know you need a modem for dial-up, but I am not to sure about high-speed internet. Any Help? I just don't want whoever is going to install the internet tomorrow to come over and say my computer can't connect to the internet. Thanks.

As long as you have an Ethernet port your good to go. Unless you have a very old computer, you will have it.

All you need is an Ethernet adapter in your computer. Most motherboards made in the past 5 years have an onboard adapter. If yours doesn't, go hit the store for a PCI card and install it. It should be around $20-$25 if you have to buy one retail.
