Quick networking question
Hiya everyone! Just a quick networking question--more of a double check. So..in my house I have the cable modem and router in a main room. I then have about 60-100 feet of CAT-5 cable running across the house to my main room. I've had to recently had a couple of computers on to the network near the main room. I was using an old hub as a simple (read: cheap) solution but am finally experience collisions and the such.
My proposed solution was to add another router/switch where the hub is now. I know the ideal solution would be to buy a larger router and run everything from the main router. Just have to face the facts...I'm not crawling through my roof crawl-space any time soon. Any suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance! |

Just put a switch in, they're dirt cheap nowadays.
