Cool Sharing a dial up connection, wirelessly

Is it possible to share a dial up connection Wirelessly. would I need a access point or a cable router. I would like to use my desktops modem to connect to the Internet and share the connection to Two laptops .The reason I'm asking is my friend is upgrading to N and is selling The G set up "Linksys Cable dsl router ,3 laptop cards,2 pci cards,"For a 100 bucks.Would the dsl router work for me.If so would the router have to plug into the desktop or could I put a pci card in it . Thanks

Not worth the trouble and configuration hassle. Wait till you get broadband. If your dialup is AOL or any other service with proprietary software required, forget it.

Question

Broadband is out of the question for now .I have recently moved to a rural area and that is no availability for standard cable for dsl. So that leaves satellite witch is expensive .I was just wondering if the broadband router could fit my needs for now. I know that sharing a 56 K modem wouldn't have a lot of bandwidth. I have read of others sharing a 56 K connection.

Neither one of those can easily be shared. Use a standard cheap switch to share files and printer. They only cost 20 bucks.
