SSL / HTTPS Issues from Win2003 SP2
This is a follow up to my previous post on 2/23/07. I finally figured out today that my SSL/HTTPS problems stem from a security enhancement (4011) that was included in Windows Server 2003 SP2 (found under event id code 50960). Basically, Windows is blocking outbound HTTPS traffic. If I'm reading the MS web site correctly, they expect me to take steps to specifically allow SSL communication, for example, to designated "friendly" web sites. Setting up the friendly sites in Internet Explorer is not the only necessary step, however. At least, that hasn't worked for me...
I'm lost now, I don't know if I have to do something with ISA Server (mentioned on the MS support site) or change something else in the internet configuration. If you have any solid ideas, let me know. (I've never worked with ISA Server -- is it on the Windows 2003 installation CD?) |

No, ISA Server is something that is purchased separately.
