Question Scotty I need more power!!

Hi Everybody,

I finished building my 2nd computer and intended to use the old one in the office in my condo building. I have to go with a wireless router to get the internet (Bellsouth DSL Extreme) because I cannot run wires to the office. I live on the same floor and the office is about 60 feet away but there are 4 concrete walls between the router and the 2nd computer. I have the Netgear WGR614 Router with a WG311 PCI Adapter. The router and card were new and also free. I know the router setup is working because I set it up on the kitchen table and was getting a 96% signal. I put the computer in the office and get 0, it won't connect. I been looking at the board postings related to my similiar problem and I'm getting the impression that my router is not "that good". Is my solution here a better product? And what do you recommend? Or is there nothing available to get this working execpt a big ole jack-hammmer. Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Well if a jackhammer really is an option, wired ALWAYS beats wireless.

Try a couple of cantennas if the antennas are removable.
