How do get my homemade PC to have the ability to connect to a wireless network? I've got a D-Link USB adapter and i've got hardware from my mobo pack which connects on some onboard hardware but it seems my PC is receiving tons and sending nothing at all. It says excellent connection 54Mbps but to what? It also tells me to install some software to do with it from mobo CD but this software doesn't even exist. Any help would be appreiciated!
* Oh yeah, not using USB adapter yet but will try now but when I last did it didn't work... no idea how... will retry now. SOLVED! D-Link actually works but I get a potential software clash with McAfee wireless security and my D-Link... should I be worried as an annoying pop-up comes up EVERY time I boot up.

Seconded, get McAfee off the system and don't go near Norton either. Either download AVG from http://free.grisoft.com/ or if you want to pay for a better AV, goto http://www.eset.com/ and get NOD32.
