I can see him, but he can't see me

I am hooked up to a Linksys Wireless G router, while my brother is connected wirelessly. He can get on the internet fine with it, the problem we're having is setting up a network. I can see his computer in My Network Places, but I don't have permission to access his computer, and he can't even see me on his My Network Places. He has file and printer sharing turned on, and I changed his Workgroup to the one I set up. So what am I doing wrong?

What are you running for Anti-Virus and/or firewall software?

Have you tried just disabling all that stuff temporarily (firewalls, virus, etc.).

Just to see if you can see each other then. I've seen virus software do some weird stuff in network setups.

The problem is Norton. Have him remove Norton and you should be golden.

No, I haven't tried that yet. I will when I get off of work.

I just feel like I missed a step. I did the wireless setup wizard on my computer, then did a network setup wizard on his computer and changed his workgroup name. I feel like I missed a step in between.

Have you removed Norton as Panama Red suggested?

not yet. I don't get out of work until 5, so I'll go home and do that after I update my PS3 with the new firmwire update everyone's talking about.

You can test if the problem is Norton or not by simply disabling it and trying. It would be easier to test it than to uninstall it. I mention that because Norton (NAV) is on all my networked systems and no problem here.

Run the network setup wizard on BOTH computers - choosing the option for the computer is connected to the Internet using a residential gateway.
