Can't connect to my ZyXEL Router

ZyXEL HS-100W

I used to be able to connect couple of months ago. But I found that occasionally I had to reset the connection to make it work. Also my TiVo was using it to connect to Internet. Eventually I now cannot connect at all.

I can connect through Ethernet directly, but when I disable the LAN and go to WAN only the browser can't find sites. Don't know how to troubleshoot it. The setup wizzard through router says everything is fine so don't know what's going on. Comcast won't troubleshoot cause they don't support the router.

Any help would be apprecitated.

Almost all routers and broadband modem run better with an occasional "power cycling". Unplug the power from both units, wait at least one full minute and plug in only the cable modem. Give the modem about a minute to self test and synch up before plugging in the router. Then wait for the router to also self test and synch up. You may want to reboot your pc also. See if that helps.

Tried doing just that

Tried resetting comp, modem, router. It says it's connected, but can't surf. Any modem utilities anybody knows to figure out the problem?

Thanx

Did you try connecting directly to the modem and see if you're connected that way? If so, remember that you MUST power cycle the modem when you change the attached device, like hooking up the router.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.
