XP reinstall "no internet"

My son reinstalled XP home and cannot dsl connect to the internet. He can dsl connect when he runs with Ubuntu.

He has 4550 Dell 2 gig memory.


Any ideas?

Check in the Device Manager and see if the Network adapter has a yellow ! mark by it. You probably need to install the drivers for that nic. Chances are he neglected to install all the Dell drivers. If you don't have your Drivers cd, you can download what you need from the Dell site. Btw, Ubuntu has all the drivers built in and they load automatically during the install.
