ethernet issues

I installed new NIC and drivers but in device mgr i see unknown device>ethernet controller. Assuming this is motherboard related I install networking ethernet etc from this disk, but it's still there in device mgr and I cannot get on internet

what's up with this?

Obviously, the drivers are not getting installed correctly. What is the make/model of the NIC you just installed, as well as the make/model of the motherboard? Also, what version and patch level of Windows are you using?
