So basically, I have two computers. I have Windows Vista and Windows 2000 (This might be the same is it was Windows XP and Windows 2000).
This is what I did on my Windows 2000: My Network Places->Computers Near Me->ComputerName and My Network Places->Entire Network->Microsoft Windows Network->Workgroup->ComputerName I get an error message that reads: "\\ComputerName is not accessible. The network path was not found. But when I use the other computer (The Vista), it seems to work. Do I have to logon to Windows Vista to fix the problem or can I stay in my home to fix the problem with Windows 2000? Can someone give me a step-to-step process? Thanks! |

That is almost always a firewall or no sharing turned on. Go into Vista's control panel/Network and Sharing and turn Network Discovery and File Sharing on.
