Wireless?

Hi everyone...heres my question...we have two computers in my home..one for me and one for my kids...they are both hooked to the same modem so we keep them both in the living room..id like one of the computers do go wireless and i have a wireless card but someone said that the second one would run very slow...is this true?

One wireles and one wired will probably feel the same as both wired to the modem. Unless the modem has wireless built-in, you will need to get a wireless router(the best way to go).

Thanks Flanzig 1...i have a Netgear modem..its wat both of the computers are hooked up to..and i have a card..but no instructions..the card looks like this...its green with a black antenna and it says WLG-1203 on the card....ill look to see if theres a thread that talks about installing it because im new at all this..but if anyone here can direct me to the proper thread or give me any advice that would be great..thanks...Roxxxie

That wireless card seems to be a fairly generic brand of cards. If you don't have a CD for the drivers, try here: http://www.helpdrivers.com/ingles/li...p?codigo=80877
As for the modem, does it have the little black antenna and what is the model? If it doesn't, then you would need to get a wireless router.

I looked at the modem and its a NetGearCG814WGV2...is that the model number? and it has a white antenna....when i go to the site u listed..do i download that to make the card work?...Roxxx

That is the model number and is a wireless modem: install guide- http://kbserver.netgear.com/inquira/...docs&x=65&y=15
For the card driver, you download it to your PC in some place that will be easy to find later/power off the PC/open case/may need to remove card slot cover in the case/plug the card into an open PCI slot(white ones)/after powering back up,Windows should say "found new hardware"/should say to load drives/you will need to select the browse option and point to where you downloaded the driver file.
