Hello Everyone,
I've decided to setup a wireless adapter, being the dunce I am about these things I need some help in getting this puppy connected. I've installed the adapter and drivers. I tried configuring the adapter by using Windows Zero Configuration. The thing is I'm not finding any available wireless networks it's completely empty. What have I done or need to do to get connection. Please use layman terms this is all new to me hopefully it won't be too painful .BTW, I'm connected by Verizon DSL using a Actiontec GT704WG Wireless DSL Modem/Router.

1. Is the wireless section of your router turned on?
2. How far from the router is the wireless card, and is the antenna connected? |

Why are you trying to run it both wired and wireless?

, I'm was just taking a shot at installing it. I would like to have wireless for when my son comes home so he can do his work on his laptop from anywhere in the house. Also, since I have the adapter I'd like to know how to hook it up. I can stay wired if need be, didn't know one had to be disabled to work. Can you help me out?

Unless THAT computer is going to be run wireless, uninstall the card. When your son comes home, configure the wireless on HIS laptop. The router is ready to go, it has a SSID and a security key, that's all you need. If you need to change any router configurations, do it wired from your computer.
