Strange Network Problem

I have been experiencing a really strange network problem.

I am connecting to a wireless network, and experience no problem using aim and other applications such as games.

However when I try to go to websites it says problem loading page The connection has timed out.

This is for all websites, google, yahoo, pcmech, etc.

I am connected to aim @ the time i am experiencing these errors and is able to play games without getting disconnected.

I attempt to ping google.com sometimes and it sometimes says could not find host, but i verify that i am online becuause I am able to chat on aim.

I know this is not a speed issue because when I let it hang the page will never load but if i press refresh a few times the page will load at normal speed.

I dual boost vista and ubuntu and this occurs on both operating systems. Ive also tried switching between fire fox and IE.

This is a major problem. Help would be much appreciated. Thank You.

Sounds like the DNS is not resolving. When you do an "ipconfig /all" in windows do all connection settings look correct? Have you tried flushing your DNS cache? Also, does it only happen with a wireless connection, or also with a wired connection?
