Dell Wont connect
Hey guys,
Im doing some work on my fathers computer, and for some reason, I cannot get it to connect to the internet. At first, I was at his place trying to figure out the problem with his 56k connection through AOL. I figured it was just AOL and just reinstalled it. It seems to get all the way to "Requesting Network Attention" and then logs off. So I suspect that there must be some type of conflict that wont let it fully log on to AOL. So I brought the computer home and started removing some junk/adware. Then I tried to connect to my Wireless cable network using his wireless card. I try and log onto the network and put in the proper network key, and it seems to work, but then it just goes on to say that there is limited or no connectivity. I have done everything that I know how to do so far. 1 - I checked device manager to make sure that the wireless card is working properly and has the latest drivers. 2 - I did an ipconfig /release and /renew 3 - I tried physically connecting his computer to the router and getting a connection through that. *EDIT* Well, I just happened to reboot it and all is well. Now I just need to figure out AOL...
