Trouble activating Yahoo game

I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong forum but I think it has something to do with my internet connection.

I downloaded a Yahoo game (Monopoly Here & Now) for the trial version and the trial expired. I purchased the full version and after my payment went through, it told me that I had to activate the software by clicking on a link in the game. When I clicked on it, it says "You need to be connected to the internet to continue." I have Charter High Speed and am always connected. I emailed yahoo and they continually tell me that a firewall or anti-virus is blocking the program or that I need to contact my ISP to open certain ports for certain protocols. Here is exactly what Yahoo told me:

Please ask your ISP provider or firewall manufacturer how to make sure
that the following ports are open to the respective protocols:

Firewalls need to open port 11999 and 80. You will need TCP inbound and

outbound access for this port. You may also need to add
*.games.yahoo.com to your list of allowed or exception sites.

When I talked to Charter, they said that they do not block any ports.

So, I turned off my firewall and anti-virus (McAfee) for a short time, as well as a program called SpywareBot. It still tells me that it can't find the internet connection.

I'm getting very frustrated with this whole thing and hope that someone can help. I know a little bit about computers but don't know how to open extra ports and am at a loss. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
