fqpissed PC-cillin Stops Game Play!

I've been running Trend Micro's PC-cillin for about 3 years now, and have been pretty happy with it.

About a month ago, I purchases Medal Of Honor Airborne and installed it. I found that when I tried to load a game, it would either lock up, or get a black screen. Sometimes I would get error messages if I made it back to the desktop.
I looked everywhere for the problem. Contacted EA Games support, talked to them on the phone etc...... to no avail.
I did all the normal stuff. Tried different drivers. Uninstalled, and reinstalled etc.....

Then I hooked up a second hard drive and formated and reloaded Windows XP Home which I have on my normal hard drive. Once I got Windows installed and updated, I loaded MOH Airborne.

Guess what, it played fine. I was happy.

Then I loaded PC-cillin to get the drive ready for some surfing for when I'm booted into that Hard Drive.
Tried to play the game. Got lock ups and black screens...... I tried everything again, but nothing worked. I shut off PC-cillin everyway I could, but the game would not play.

Then I "removed" PC-cillan using "add and remove programs"

Guess what, game started playing without a hitch...

What's the deal here? Can someone tell me why, even with the program shut down, that it intefers with the game play. Is there a better antivirus out there than has minimal affects on games and normal programs. I want to change after my subscription runs out at the end of this year. Norton, McAfee? Any experience out there with you guys and gaming?

Thanks,

I can't tell you exactly why PC-cillan is doing that but my guess is the game exhibits something similar to malware in some of its code and its stopping the game to prevent infection to your computer. I have several games I play that SpySweeper identifies as having a generic trojan in them, however I actually know that is not the case. I would contact PC-cillan tech support and see if they have an answer. Now that you know the problem, EA games might also be able to offer some assistance.

What version of PCC are you using? Have you checked the PCC logs to see if it's denying anything from loading up? Does the game use your network? Are you enabling your PCC firewall?
