Question about wireless & download speeds

I am adding another computer to the mix and the spot that I want to place it does not have a direct connection to my router/modem.

I am thinking of adding a wireless adapter to this pc, but was curious as to what the download speeds would be.

Would the speeds be the same as if I was connected by wire?
If not, then how much slower woud the download speeds be?

For example, say I was wanting to download a program (or whatever) that would normally take 1 hour to download if I was connected by wire, how long would it take using a wireless setup?

A wired connection, assuming it's 100Mbps or faster, will always be faster than wireless. This also depends on your internet connection speed if you are downloading from the internet. Unless you have pretty faster internet you most likely will not notice a difference in speed between the two. If you are sharing across two computer on the same network you will notice a difference then.

I currently have 1.5 Mbps down.

Not the fastest, but it works for what I need it for.

With a wireless connection you should have no problem maxing that out.
