greedo Firefoxed

Running Win98 SE ( aren't I a dinosaur? ) with Mozilla Firefox as my main browser, the Fox quit working. I use it 100% of the time and has all my shortcuts, favorites, etc. Now I'm on my backup, IE but it's not the same. If anyone has ideas on how to get the foxy puched up again ( I reinstalled it to no avail ) I'd appreciate it. I also have to go to my secondary email acct. for replies - tom_raconteurr(at)yahoo.com Thanks!

Your best bet is to first upgrade to XP or Vista (If your PC is up to par).

A few questions:

1.) What version of Firefox are you trying to run?

2.) What are your PC Spec's when it comes to memory and CPU?

Well, CPU and memory would make it stop working all of a sudden I don't believe. Your best bet, personally I think, is to wipe the drive, install XP and then go from there.

There is no reason why Firefox won't work fine with Win98SE. Suggesting a wipe and XP is not an appropriate recommendation, that costs money. Let's try to help getting it working with what's presented, please.

What I think may be the problem is that the hardware may not meet the requirements of Firefox, I can't really find any other reason.

How old is the PC your trying to run?

When you say it quit working what exactly do you mean? It hangs before start? Crashes a few mins. in?

I seem to remember that if you go to control panel and uninstall then reinstall it will still remeber your favorites and settings. That was also going to be my question, what happens when you click on the firefox icon?
