IE/Firefox Connectivity Issues

When I am surfing the internet on either my Firefox or Internet Explorer it more often than not comes up with a page displaying the site could not be found.. The problem cures itself after I hit refresh for like a minute straight, but it's more annoying than anything.. It acts like it recieves connection for a moment on, then it loses it for a moment.

Now the unusual thing is -- when I play online games, download programs or torrents, instant message, or use internet voice services that require a steady connection, it runs fine! I downloaded a 2gig program the other day and it was steadily at 300kb/s! It just does this when I am casually surfing with a browser!

I am using a Netgear DG834G v3 Modem/Router if that is any help. Could it be a problem with the settings on something with my computer or router?

Is this computer wired or wireless?

This computer is wired to the router/modem.

Try rebooting the router - unplug the power for a minute or so.
